The bill (Reg. No. 3239) suggests specify the notion of “merchant shipping”, as well as grounds for lapse of certificate on the right to sail under the State Flag of Ukraine and the ship's letter. The document also refines concession rules of immovable property of port infrastructure objects of state ownership on the territory of a maritime port, etc.
The respective amendments are to be made to the Merchant Shipping Code and the laws “On Maritime Ports” and “On Concessions”.
Committee members upheld the bill, adoption of which will enhance merchant shipping security in the responsibility zone of the state of Ukraine and help develop potential of Ukrainian maritime branch.
